ANT4525: Human Osteology

Provides an introduction to the analysis of human skeletal material from forensic and archaeological contexts. A combination of lecture-based and hands-on learning, this course offers many skills necessary in the field of bioarchaeology.

ANT4852: GIS in Archaeological Research

Examines the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for managing and analyzing geospatial data in anthropology. Discusses the methodology and theory of GIS, applying it to real-world case studies. A project-focused class that involves a lot of digital analysis using publicly-available data.

ANT4930: The Archaeology of Violence

Discusses ritualized violence in ancient societies in a broader socio cultural context. This course provides an introduction to the area of my research focus, the north coast of Peru, and its related time period as well as important events that significantly changed the political landscape.

LAS4935: Indigenismo & Interethnic Alliances

Examines "Indigenismo," a complex trend of public policy, thought, and art that emerged in the early 20th century in Latin America. A writing-intensive and research-oriented class, this course analyzes the history and social conditions of indigenous populations across Latin America.
